McKenna received her BFA Environmental+Interior Design from Chaminade University and a Graduate Historic Preservation Certificate from University of Hawaii Manoa. She is currently employed by Fung Associates.
She is a former ASID Hawaii Student Representative to the Board. As a student, McKenna won two Design Excellence Awards and the ASID Student Scholarship Essay Competition.
As a chapter leader, McKenna has three key goals. First, to increase membership of the ASID Hawaii Chapter by providing a variety of events and resources that will appeal to different types of design interests. Second, to enhance outreach between the design community and the local community through discussion and volunteer work. Third, to reach out to students and help with their professional development through mentorship and scholarship programs.
