Tiare was born and raised in Kailua and attended the Colorado Institute of Art, majoring in Graphic Design. She has worked as a freelance graphic designer, a design associate with CS Wo, and was a boutique owner in Kailua. Tiare started her own slipcover business, SlipCovers, Etc., to pay for her education at Chaminade University. During this time she had an apprenticeship with Liz Howard, FASID owner of the Howard Design Group.

In addition to SlipCovers, Etc., Tiare formed TCB Island Interiors, LLC and was co-owner of Studio Becker Honolulu.  In 2007, TCB Island Interiors and Studio Becker Honolulu merged to form Archipelago Hawaii, thereby combining interior design and the kitchen design. In September 2010 Designs by Tiare (formerly SlipCovers, Etc.) became part of the Archipelago Hawaii family. This allowed Tiare to have all of her businesses and passions together under one roof.

Tiare has been a member of ASID for 20+ years and held many board positions.
